TSLA & PLTR Systematic Signals

Comment

  • TSLA is in full risk-on mode, with long streaks; all past 10 days have shown the same signal of “1”.

  • PLTR has deteriorated in its model scores - a streak of five “0”s and only four positive signals in the past 10 days.

Ideas

  • Further to the “Streak”, which measures the signal persistence upon changes, I have added a new column for “No. of 1s in past 10 Days”.

  • One can think of this new metric as a rolling 10-day average of the Risk Regime. For those who prefer less frequent trading, they could set their own threshold on when to act. Hypothetical example: holding a position until the “10-day” count crosses below 5 and the streak of “0” is more than 3.

  • Warning: the backtest has only been applied to trading on immediate signal changes. No custom rules have been tested, which can significantly deviate in results.

How to read this table

In interpreting the signal, “1” occurs when the model prefers to buy or hold a position in the asset. “0” occurs when the model chooses to sell the asset and stay on the sidelines. There is no “minimum” period for the strategy to remain on either signal.

“Streak” refers to the number of consecutive days the ticker has seen the same signal. This may be useful for determining whether a change in signal is permanent or if a risk regime has been dominant.

"1"s in the Last 10 Days refer to the number of “1” / “Risk On” signals observed in the past 10 days. This paints a picture of the latest risk regime.
